What better 2021 has brought to Indian Visa Seekers?

Canada has always been a top choice for Indian immigrants. The reason is that Canada has several advantages that it provides to permanent residents.

Canada has a small population of young people. Around 18.5% of the total Canadian population is aged population. The ratio is very high of older population than younger because the remaining is a rapidly aging population in Canada.

In 2021, IRCC introduced two new online portals for submitting applications, which are important for those looking to enter Canada in 2022.

Analysis of Express Entry and PNP- 2020, 2021, 2022

Express Entry was introduced in 2015, since then Canada is inviting applications on the international level. 2020 was the year when ITA was recorded as the highest.

This is the second time when Canada has landed more than 4 lakhs of Permanent Residents. The first time it made a record was back in 1867.

Express Entry and PNP target

Canada is aiming for higher Permanent Residents than ever. Approx. 40% of Indians got the PR this year. In the coming years, it may increase with ease in the application process and shorter processing time.

Expected changes in Immigration Programs(2022)

1. NOC Revised

Every 10 years, Canada revises the NOC as per their country’s goals. This time Canada revised it in Sep 2021 but did not implement it. Revised codes will be implemented by 2022. This will bring a new way of evaluating the work experience, education, and other factors with better possibilities for immigrants.

2. Fully vaccinated immigrants

New year’s eve is coming amidst the fear of a new corona variant. And if you have plans to move to Canada then you should have a look at the requirements before traveling to the country. Among other rules and restrictions, the topmost entry eligibility is a fully vaccinated person with an approved vaccine by Canada.

PR for vaccinated applicants

3. Municipal Nominee Program

Canada is moving ahead with the aim of spreading immigration throughout the country. For this, PNP and MNP programs came in presence. Through MNP, smaller communities and municipalities will be able to choose newcomers and fulfill their labor requirements.

How restrictions will look like in 2022?

Whether you have already applied or are planning to move, you should know these restrictions before traveling.

Canada may implement more strict rules for immigrants in 2022. So, having information in advance can help you save a lot of time and money.

Effect on PR visa during covid

1. With new rules, you will not be allowed to enter Canada if you are not fully vaccinated. Exceptions are:

a. agricultural and food processing workers;
b. foreign marine crew members;
c. those entering on compassionate grounds;
d. new permanent residents;
e. Refugees who have recently resettled;
f. Under-18-year-olds who are exempt from the travel restrictions, such as international students who are studying in a designated learning institution with a COVID-19 readiness plan; those traveling with a parent, step-parent, tutor, or guardian who is either fully vaccinated, or a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada or person registered under the Indian Act; and those traveling to reunite with immediate or extended Canadian family members in Canada; and
g. national interest exemptions.

2. Only those immigrants will be considered as fully vaccinated who are vaccinated with one of the vaccines. These are Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca/Covishield, Johnson & Johnson, Sinopharm, Sinovac, and Covaxin. You must have got vaccination 14 days prior to travel.

2. Will the CRS score come down below 450 in 2022?

To complete its target of Permanent Residents and labor requirements, Canada may drop the CRS cut-off in 2022. But to know the actual scores you have to wait until it’s revealed officially.

A maximum CRS score of 75 (CEC) was set by Canada on 13th February 2021, the lowest ever requirement for CRS scores.

CRS score

It is expected that Canada will welcome 4,11,000 immigrants in 2022 and 421,000 in 2023. We can expect more large draws with the lowest CRS score requirements in the coming months as the Canadian government has a bigger target for new immigrants in 2022.

FSW draw in 2022?

Every year Canada sets a target for immigrants. To achieve this target, Canada invites applications and issues PR to the most adequate applicants.

This year in 2021, there has been no FSW draw. The reason is, Canada wanted to meet its target of 4 lakh, permanent residents. So candidates who applied through FST, and CEC have been a priority from the beginning of the year.

Will FSR resume

Since last year, Canada has been maintaining a backlog of over 50,000 thousand permanent resident and temporary residency applications. Clearing this backlog is the priority of the Canadian government.

Despite this backlog, Canada will invite more and more applicants for its economic growth. As Canada’s Immigration Minister, Sean Fraser indicates that for the long-term economic strategy they are going to continue to welcome a good amount of applications.

Canada is planning something bigger - What’s in their mind?

1. Canada is targeting more and more Economic Class Immigrants who can contribute to their economy. A large no. an aging population is the biggest reason behind it. By setting future plans for the country, Canada is increasing the no. of permanent residents through different pathways.

2. Canada is promoting Refugee Immigrants. Nobody is unaware of the fact that Canada is known for its excellent work & study opportunities, healthcare facilities, and social security for its people. Apart from that, Canada has a very good reputation and is always remains on the top of minds for their Human Rights Law protection for their country’s people.

In recent times, Canada has provided PR to Afghanistan refugees. Now with continuing this good work, Canada is planning to welcome a large number of refugees to the country.

Leveling up the FSW applications. Canada always comes in support of family reunification. This can be seen on it's very popular websites. In the coming years, Canada will increase a great count of PR through this program.

The new variant has been impacting globally. New travel rules, the easy entry system, and safe landing seem like a challenge in such a pandemic situation.

Canada is among the top countries for migrants and with its best practices, Canada always tries to make the immigration process smooth.
