UK’s New Visa for Talented Graduates - High Potential Individual (HPI)

Under the new visa, graduates worldwide can move to the UK without having a job offer.

This visa is specifically for students who have studied in universities outside the UK and are capable of contributing to the economy. Since the UK has several short- and long-term immigration programs, the new visa is only available to talented graduates.

High Potential Individual (HPI) Visa

The UK's new visa for international graduates is called a High Potential Individual(HPI) visa. This visa aims to increase the workforce with talented international graduates in the UK.

What does it mean by Talented Graduates?

Well! Everyone is talented until the UK defines a High Potential Individual visa for UK immigration.

1. Your age must be 18 or above.
2. Your Bachelor’s degree must be equivalent to a UK Bachelor’s degree. Your degree must have been awarded within five years of the application date.
3. ECCTIS is the body that assesses the equivalency of educational documents.
4. You must have at least £1270 in your bank account for a continuous period of 28 days before applying.
5. The B1 level English test will be required if you have not completed your degree in English.

If your bachelor's is done in the English language, then a transcript for the same will be required from the university.

Apart from that your university should be one of the top-ranking universities.

UK has a selective list of top-ranking universities globally (soon be available on the UK govt. website). You may be eligible to apply if you have graduated from one of those universities.

Universities that secure their place under 50 in two of the following world rankings will be eligible for this visa.

2. Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings
3. The Academic Ranking of World Universities

Benefits of HPI visa

1. A Job offer is not required.
2. You can bring your dependents and children (<18).
3. A language test is not necessary if you have completed your graduation in the English language.
4. Being graduated from a top-ranking university, you are almost eligible.

As the visa has no prior requirement for a job offer, they will have to ensure your strengths, participation, and knowledge. So, an excellent academic background is what they want to have in applicants.

Is there any validity for the UK- HPI visa?

The visa comes with validity, depending on your study program. If you have completed your Graduate or Master’s, then the visa will be valid for 2 years. For PhD or doctoral graduates, the validity is of 3 years.

What is the fee?

The visa will cost £715.
